Question by j_colace: What boat manufacturer is good for a family\ski boat?
I am looking to buy a boat in a year or so and I am wondering about quality of the makes. Some of the boats I am looking closely at are Maxum, Searay, Crownline. Are these good manufacturers? Are their others I should be looking into?

My family has had a searay for a couple years now. it is a really good boat and pulls a skier out pretty good. It is great for tubeing. Good luck…You will have fun whatever you choose.

Sea Ray is a good solid built boat for most of their line. Crownline is a a more upscale boat and very well built. Maxums are made by The same Brunswick (They own Sea Ray as well) and they are a little less money but you sacrifice a little in build quality and fit & finish, but basically the same boat. Cobat is a realy well built boat but up towards the Crownlines in price. Regal boats are a good comparison to the Sea Ray and a little less money.
Make sure you are comfortable with the dealer and their service department near you. No matter how well built it is you will eventually take back to the shop.
Good Luck and enjoy the water!
Searay. They have been in business a long time. Moves nice and smooth over the water. Pulls great and has a good punch if you need it. Find a dealer that also services. You will be able to sell your Searay faster then your other choices, if you should ever have to. Have fun, be safe and wear your life-vests. Just dip em in the water to keep you cool.
